Lindsay Denton - About Me
I have completed a 4 year training at the Karuna Institute, hold a Masters Degree in Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP) from Middlesex University and am a British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) Registered Practitioner. I adhere to the ethical code of BACP and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I previously worked as an honorary psychotherapist for two London charities: Mind in Camden and Barnet Community Counselling.

I currently see clients privately in Nottingham and Grantham. I work with a range of issues, including experience of relationship issues, bereavement, loss or anger, and with individuals who have experienced trauma or abuse. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who had a difficult or lonely childhood, or who now experience feelings of detachment or isolation, anxiety states or low levels of self confidence.

I have worked in a wide range of organisations in a variety of roles and am very aware of the stress that any of us can face in our relationships, our jobs or through unemployment. I have also lived overseas for a number of years in both urban and rural settings and appreciate the difficulties and challenges being so far from friends and family can present.

Having explored a variety of meditative practices I was ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2004, deciding to return to a more secular lifestyle in 2007. While Buddhist principles and a regular mindfulness practices remain an important part of my life I enjoy working with people from all spiritual orientations (or none), and from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
