Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP)

Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP) is a therapy based on mindful awareness. It combines awareness of emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual responses as they arise for both client and therapist, with Western understanding of physical and psychological development.

Core Process Psychotherapy offers an in-depth and holistic approach which allows the psychotherapist to support the client as they enquire into their present experience. Thought patterns, states of mind, and awareness of how they are held in the body, are explored in a way that helps to develop insight, facilitate healing and support change.

Mindfulness means paying attention to, and being curious about, our thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations in the present moment.
Done with kindness and without judgement this can help us to become more aware of our feelings and reactions so that, instead of being overwhelmed by them, we are better able to manage them.

Mindfulness based psychotherapy combines the practice of mindfulness with an understanding of how our individual personalities and characters are formed and develop. As we explore your experience in this way you might realise that past experiences may be influencing your current feelings, reactions and behaviour. While we cannot change the past, by changing the way we relate to those experiences we can create space within ourselves that allows us to develop different responses and patterns of behaviour.
Through this process your feelings, emotions and old patterns of behaviour may naturally start to change, more positive ways of relating to yourself and other people may develop, and a more resilient and positive sense of self emerge.
